11,610 job openings generated at SM Bulacan Malls’ Job Fair

SM Malls in Bulacan pulled in thick and big crowd of job applicants last May 1, 2014.

Now on its 7th year, SM Supermalls in cooperation with the Department of Labor and Employment Region 3 (DOLE-R3) together with the Provincial Public Employment Office (PESO) and the Municipal PESO units in Baliwag and Marilao, have once again hosted the job fair to support the National Government’s initiative of providing a full, decent and productive employment for every Filipino.

“SM has always been a catalyst for community development. We (SM) hold a powerful tool for progress and nation building” saidSM City Baliwag Mall Manager Arch. Andrew G. Cristobal. “With the job fairs that each SM Mall is conducting, we are helping the Filipino workforce by connecting applicants to potential employers so they can be interviewed right away and hopefully be hired on the same day” he added.

A total of 420 applicants were Hired-On-The-Spot at SM City Baliwag and SM City Marilao. While 11,610 job openings were generated from both overseas and local companies.

The fairs had also drawn a crowd of 3,113 applicants and 124 participating companies.

Apart from the job fair, applicants were also able to brush up their CVs, receive career advice and listen to guest speakers who inspired the jobseekers with pointers on job hunting.

Simultaneously held in all 49 SM Malls, the job fair is a part of corporate social responsibility that brings together private and government sectors in pursuit of generating job employment to the growing Filipino workforce. It also aims to lessen the inconvenience of job seeking process by providing valuable exposure to companies of their respective industries and vacancies.
