Help Raise 130 Million Steps to Fight Breast Cancer

For 130 years, Avon has stood for Beauty for a Purpose, helping women across the globe feel beautifully confident, financially independent, and empowered to change lives through the causes that Avon supports, including the fight against breast cancer.

This 2016, as the company celebrates 130 years globally, Avon Philippines amplifies its commitment to the cause by inviting men and women to take part in a grand, never-before-done challenge: to walk “130 Million Steps to Fight Breast Cancer.”

Pledge Your Steps

This October, anyone, anytime, anywhere can pledge their steps to the cause by using the free Avon 130 Million Steps Pedometer App.

The mobile application is available for free on the Google Play Store and App Store. Just sign up, set your step goal for the day, and start walking. Carry your phone close to your body –in a pocket, arm band, or shoulder bag—and your steps will be tracked, even without an internet connection!

When connected to the internet, your steps are automatically synced to the grand total, and you can track your total contribution to the campaign.

By sharing daily step achievements on Facebook and inviting friends to join the #130MillionSteps challenge, everyone can help create more awareness for the cause.

Avon Philippines Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer 2016 ambassadors, Kapuso stars Jennylyn Mercado and Rocco Nacino encourage fans to step up. “One in every thirteen Filipina women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime,” Jennylyn reminds, “and that statistic should encourage us to step up, talk about the disease, and promote breast self-exams. Early detection is still the best protection.”

“Men and women are in this fight together,” says Rocco, “and the more funds and awareness we raise, the more patients and survivors we can help through the Avon-Philippine General Hospital (PHH) Breast Care Center. Purchasing the Avon T-shirt and Avon Naturals Lotions are other great ways to contribute.”

Purchase the Avon Fundraising Products and Make a Direct Donation

Make a statement, wear the Avon 130 Million Steps KGBC T-shirt available for just P299. From each shirt sold, P20 goes to the maintenance of facilities and support groups of the Avon-PGH Breast Care Center.

Avon Naturals Hand & Body Lotion in the October 2016 Avon brochures are also fundraising products. A portion from each lotion sold goes to the same beneficiary.

The Avon Pedometer App also features bank account details for donations that will go directly to the Philippine Cancer Society, Inc., and toward the Avon-PGH Breast Care Center.

Join the Grand Downloading Day and Walk of Awareness Kick-off!

Everyone is invited to join Avon Philippines, Jennylyn, and Rocco for a Grand Downloading Day on Sunday, October 9, 2016, 6:30AM at Liwasang Ullalim, CCP Complex. Participants can download the pedometer app and join a 3K walk. Celebrity trainers, coach Jim and Toni Saret will be sent off on their nationwide Walk of Awareness to promote the cause and the Avon Pedometer App.
